Abstract
Vehicle performance will always depend on maintenance by its users. Currently, vehicle monitoring technology is needed to optimize periodic vehicle maintenance. This research aims to Design and test wireless Engine Monitoring and Fault Detection through On board diagnostics with a Microcontroller. This research method uses research and development, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. The parameters of the developed system include engine load, engine rpm, speed, engine temperature, throttle position, battery voltage, and error code checking on the vehicle injection system. The results show that the developed system can read all parameters used for monitoring and testing to see if damage has been detected to the injection system. In addition, the functionality test showed 100% results on the parameters set in the development process. In future research, further testing is needed on the battery power system so that the reliability of the wireless engine monitoring and fault detection through on board diagnostic with microcontroller system can be known.
