Abstract
Enzyme detergent contains enzymes to help remove stubborn stains on clothes and other surfaces. Detergents are difficult to decompose by microorganisms, so they can cause environmental pollution and have adverse health effects. This study examines the formulation of enzyme detergent from a combination of enzymes and methyl ester sulfonate (MES) surfactants by adding saponins from Moringa Oleifera leaf extract. Characterization of enzyme detergents is done by testing saponin levels, measuring pH and density, and detergency power to see the product's compliance with SNI. Testing the characteristics of waste contamination from enzyme detergent products (pH of waste, TSS levels of waste, and BOD and COD of waste) to determine the impact of the product on the environment. The saponin content of the resulting Moringa leaf extract is 14%. The resulting detergent has a pH of 10.35-10.8 and a density of 1.17-1.186 g/mL. All formulas comply with SNI 06-476-1996 regarding liquid laundry detergent.
